Closeworks is built by David Shumba. David works in finance data and Microsoft Fabric pipelines at a major UK automotive manufacturer — including SAP FICA reconciliations at production scale. Closeworks brings that same engineering discipline to UK accountancy firms that have outgrown Excel but can’t justify a six-figure consultancy.

Working on finance data systems that handle hundreds of thousands of transactions, on tight close schedules, in an environment with zero tolerance for reconciliation errors, shapes how Closeworks approaches smaller firms — the volume is different, the engineering discipline isn’t.

Accountancy practices at the 5–50 staff level face versions of the same problems. The difference is they often lack access to the people who know how to solve them without a six-figure engagement minimum. That is the gap Closeworks exists to fill.
